How to identify your Rayburn Regent Cooker?
The Regent was the replacement for the Rayburn No1 Cooker and therefore it shares alot of the Rayburn No1 features but with some changes.
The Rayburn Regent features a drop down door handles (later the door handles changed to a horizontal pattern) and a single oven with a fluted lower front plate. The Rayburn Regent also featured a one piece insulating cover which orginally was an optional extra but soon became standard.
The Regent also had re-styled flue chamber was provided, but the flue damper remained below the hob, with an indicator registering on the back-plate.
The fire-grate is circular with a different designed grate frame compared to the No1
It was available with or without a hot-water boiler and with a left or right-handed oven, also available were optional extras such as the splash back, plate-rack, and a plinth to raise by the height by 6 inches.
The standard boiler was plain cast iron, with the option of having it glass lined (enamelled) or of copper construction.
